Every gate needs a self-closing hinge and a self-latching mechanism, with the release positioned out of small children’s reach, and must open away from the pool.

Gaps & Openings

Gaps under the fence and between vertical members are limited (generally 100mm) so a barrier can’t be squeezed through or under.

Non-Climbable Areas

Objects that could be used as a foothold — furniture, pot plants, structures — shouldn’t sit within the non-climbable zone around the fence.
